I have a friend who asked me to buy a ring pillow for her wedding. I know that they don’t have a lot of money and we’ve been friends for a while, so I didn’t have a problem with it – so I bought it for her. Another friend of mine felt that it was incredibly rude that I was asked to do this. I felt ok doing it, so if we differ on opinions on this, it doesn’t really matter all that much. But I was wondering what the general concensus was concerning other people’s weddings. Would you consider it rude if someone asked you to buy an item such as a ring pillow, flower girl basket, etc. for their wedding?
Wemblania – She didn’t ask for it as a gift. I’m not good at sewing so I bought it. ‘ll probably buy her something else small as well. She did ask for it outright. She was a close friend at one time, but not so much anymore. I didn’t help with the wedding or anything like that though. I was with her though during the rocky part of the relationship and tried to really be encouraging to her at that time but as I started to see that she didn’t really reciprocate, so I let the relationship fade. I wish them well, it was a small request, she is forthright by nature, so I just decided to do it.

At the wedding I attended this weekend, the ringbearer (about 6 or 7 y.o.) carried the rings on the pillow.
My MOH, however, says it’s just for show and the best man and MOH should hold the rings during the ceremony and the ring bearer just carry decorative rings.

Now, is it just personal preference? My ringbearer is 4 years old. Should I let him carry the rings on the pillow or just put decorative ones on the pillow and have the best man and MOH hold the rings?
Thanks for your input. I do trust my ring bearer, i’ve known his family for years and I babysit him occasionally. He would be under constant supervision, but I think I might just put some decorative rings on the pillow just in case he gets stage fright and tenses up. Which I have a slight suspicion he might do.

well we jus got back from a long ass drive and are now at my sisters house where she lives with her husband and 1 yr. old son, well she didn’t tell her husband we were coming because she wanted to see if the house was dirty since he was here by himself since he had a field op since hes a marine and just a few days ago they were fighting since he started saying why she was checking up on him and shit like tat and kept asking wen she was coming home well she lied and told him we were still at my moms house but we actually are at my sisters house and she found his wedding ring in the drawer where the condoms are, and the master room is a mess and the sheets are messed up and the pillows are crossed which my sister said that only happens when they have sex…..so what should she do? hes not coming back from the field ops until friday or saturday and shes kinda going crazy so please help and leave a comment. Janice are you high? 0 for a photographer is not bad? I did WORST case scenario here. Least amount saved, with the most I would pay towards each thing. I’m not saying we want to spend that much at all. It’s just a figure! I’m 0 over, but we have two more weeks to save now, and we might have raises or bonuses before that time. We might only spend 0 on flowers or 0 on a photographer. It’s just an estimate. I wanted to know if I left anything off? The honeymoon is big because we are going to an island. I keep hearing that I am spending too much on the reception and not enough on the honeymoon and now here is the opposite?! We are also staying in an upscale hotel in a large city the night of the wedding. Sooooo…
Oh! My friend is going to DJ, they are also setting the mood lights and colors to auto so we can enjoy something without having to pay .
Well some of the pricing I gave you I already had in the total. Sorry if I confused you. I’ve gone over it three times and I am not wrong there. I love the tips. I will definitely try to do as much myself. I am going to serve one glass per person for dinner (wine) great suggestion! I just need to find a white and red as an option maybe. Depends on the dinner I assume. Red is an aquired taste, but I enjoy it myself. As I said, this is just to get an idea. I’d love to spend less on each item. I just broke it down using my own judgement instead of percentages. They didn’t work for me considering the bulk of things is already included in the package. I am going to have a small rehearsal hopefully. Probably have my family make dinner since they are dying to make dinner for the wedding, they can do this instead and I would save a lot of money have it at someone’s home. Thanks again!
Oh and to the answerer about the postage, I’m assuming I live in a more expensive area than you. The only other place cheaper (and decent – ie not a living room in a house or a church) was ,300 NOTHING included. Just to rent! I am not sure about attaching postage yet, but at any rate, my #’s include dates for each person and some are large families.

I’m not getting personalized M&Ms, no way. The tulle bags are maybe 20 cents each. I’m not filling them to the brim either. I want to offer something edible without hassle, but without overdoing it. I hear a lot of favors get left. I never noticed favors myself. A dinner with friends is enough for me and most the people I associate with feel the same.
