Alternative ring pillows?

I’m thinking instead of a ring pillow for my son (he will be 18 months) maybe three artificial rose heads bunched together, with the rings tied to the middle with some ribbon. They would be gold or red to match our wedding colours.
Or I could make one giant rose head about 15cm (7 inches) in diameter, with the rings tied to the middle with some ribbon.

Do you think this would look nice? Which idea do you prefer and do you think it might be a bit too feminine for a little boy?

Are there any other alternatives for ring pillows? I don’t want teddies or those little dishes/bowls.

I think flowers for a boy are not a very good idea, though I don’t have much of an idea for what to use? you could go with a basket or maybe a little pail painted up? or he could just carry the ring box!

I really don’t like the flower thing for a little boy. I don’t know why since most of the pillows the poor guys carry are usually totally foo foo :)

18 months is pretty young to juggle something that might slide off easily.

    Stone
Like wood, stones are a popular natural element used in lieu of a pillow. Smooth large river stones, polished pieces of granite or marble and other quarry stones are options. Secure the rings to the stone using a ribbon tied around the width, use glue on the bottom of the rock to afix the ribbon if necessary.

I was just at a wedding where the couples little boy (he was 3) carried the rings in a "glass slipper" (like a Cinderella shoe). It was actually hard plastic but it was really cute. I think they found it at a craft store.

that sounds fine. your son of course won’t have the actual rings, you’ll have to sew little fakey rings to the flowers, and the real bands are held by the best man during the ceremony.

    How about this???
